Crisp On 28th

28th St. Bonifacio Global City
January 28, 2015

Opened its doors second quarter of last year and was popular with the usual "on the go" diners. I find this convivial Cafe which seats around 50 diners a perfect venue for power lunches, family get together and more to mention.

Located at 28th St. Bonifacio Global City. the setting is casually upscale with some corners noticeably accentuated with wood panels, tables and bench, indoor seating and a courtyard area for those who has al fresco preferences.

The striped straw chairs was a favorable sight as it gave out that casual Parisian vibe where you could while away the time drinking coffee.

Albeit the physical setting does not carry ample space, the ambiance is elegant and cozy with an exciting auditory buzz in the background. This place had that rustic cafe look with a few hints of the Metro touch, and one may state that some corners of the place is indeed a photograph waiting to be taken.

I shared the dining experience with the jolly and ever witty Ms. DinDin (real name). There's more to be thankful to this light-hearted lady as, at all times she graciously accommodates me and my sister alike, walks through tedious ways just to have the cheapest air fare. My gesture extends to her office mates for their endearing assistance as well.

As you enter the place, you get the welcoming vibe and homey feel. The whole atmosphere seems geared toward socializing. The service staff is friendly without being intrusive. Wait staff offer menu suggestions, quickly takes orders, yet allow you the time to make your food selection.

The seasonally updated menu is large which can accommodate most  people's preference. I had the Chipotle Chicken Quinoa Salad. Its made up of organic quinoa sprinkled with grilled herbed chicken and tomatoes. You could taste the white cheese complimented with red beets, orange segments and lemon oil topped with black olives. The sweetish and citrusy dressing is also worth mentioning. The name says it all. Fresh greens nicely presented, perfect size for a side salad.

DinDin had the Courtyard Salad. Great presentation of a signatured salad. Colorful, fresh, full of flavor; could be a meal of its own.

I failed to ask how her salad fare. But she seem happy and enjoying it, carrying a smile, laughing on one side. OR perhaps brought about by the string of jokes and the nights gamesome mood.

When she excused herself, I got to ask the server about the Cafe, its co-owners and its sister resto's Hatch 22, Hungry Hound, Pink Panda among others. DinDin seemed knowledgeable about the celebrity-chef and part owner of the cafe (probably her celebrity crush).

When I think of a resto, one word that always comes to mind is choice. This concept extends well beyond the selections on the menu. This resto-bar offers a wide range of dining options: indoor and outdoor seating, a value priced menu for early dining, happy hour, Sunday brunch, lunch and an extensive, seasonally updated menu. Suffice it to say, this place can accommodate many individual preferences for dining.

BGC hub has its share of many fine restaurants; being a standard is not an easy accomplishment. Yet Crisp on 28th seem to make it happen with aplomb. So, if your'e looking for a perfect place that can accommodate particular palates and diverse dining preferences, this is definitely it.

A cool place to hangout with friends, celebrate birthday at and just enjoy a good bottle of Merlot or Shiraz. Somewhere you can have a great conversation at.
